Dallas Middle School students in William Straitiff’'s eighth grade United States history classes recently completed group projects on the 13 colonies. Each group researched and wrote reports containing information about the development and importance of their chosen colony and made maps showing important geographic and historical areas. Baking a cake depicting the colony of Georgia were Ashley Davenport, Jennifer Dassaro and Albert Pisaneschi. Making noises and music Mrs. Taso’s fifth grade class recently completed a science project entitled “Sound”. NOTES FROM SCHOOL | Williams named to Ithaca TV staff Dallas area resident Virginia Williams has been named to the Ithaca College Television (ICTV) executive staff and program producers for the1995-96 academic year. Williams is co-producer of “In Person,” a weekly show featuring guests from the community. She is majoring in television-communi- cations. In operation since 1958, ICTV operates out of the Roy H. Park School of Communications and is a source of local, non-commercial television programming for Tompkins County (NY) on cable channel 54. “ Shynn to sing with F&M chorus Janice Shynn of Shavertown, is a member of the Franklin & Marshall College Chorus. Shynn sings alto for the group. Shynn, a junior biology/psychology major, is a 1993 graduate of Wyoming Seminary. She is the daughter of Dr. Tae Il and Kyong Shynn, Shavertown. The College Chorus will present at least three concerts in 1995-96 and will perform works by Handel and Tippett. The singers are under the direction of assistant professor of music Simon Andrews.
