She had resided in Calwell, NJ for. 40. years before moving to Meeker 20 years ago. Surviving are her husband of #63 ‘years, Lloyd; sons, Harold, Branchville, NJ; Frederick and Willard; both of Lake Hiawatha, NJ; daughters, Zelda Cordes, Phillipsburg, NJ; Mary Wendell, ~ Tallenson, AZ.; Dolores Adams, Hawley; brother, Sheldon Ritten- house, : Trucksville, Kingston Township; sister, Mildred Smith, ANN PESAVENTO Ann Pesavento, 88, formerly of Dallas, died Nov. 16, 1995, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born on Aug. 10, 1907, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daugh- ter of the late Michael and Mary Gill Gannon. She received a Normal School Degree from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and a bachelor of arts degree from Glass- boro State College, New Jersey. She was a resident of Berlin, NJ for more than 20 years and taught at the Pine Hill schools before retiring. She returned to the area and lived in Dallas. She was a mem- ber of the Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas; Nesbitt Memorial Hospi- tal Auxiliary; and Dallas Senior women's Club. She was past president of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown, Kingston Township; Grand Regent of A Court of Our Lady of Fatima; Catholic Daugh- ters of America; and Back Moun- tain Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert. Surviving are her son, Jack L., Miami Springs, FL; daughter, Jeanne DeSocio, Liverpool, NY; four grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Kath- leen Cavan, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Leo Gannon, Parsons, Wilkes- Barre. Interment, Mount Olivet Ceme- tery, Carverton, Kingston Town- ship. NATALIE KERN Natalie L. Kern, 67, of East Center Hill Road, Dallas, died Nov. 19, 1995, at Wilkes-Barre Gen- eral Hospital. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Vi- oletta Kester Wheatley. She was a graduate of Luzerne High School and resided in Dallas for the past eight years. She had previously resided in Loyalville. Before retirement, she was employed as a secretary by the West Side Vocational Technical High School, Pringle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Carl J. Kern and a sister, Carolyn Dragon. Surviving are sons, Carl J. Jr., Lehman; William J., Dallas; four granddaughters; one great-grand- daughter; brothers, Roy Wheatley, Lehman; Ronald Wheatley, Pikes Creek; sisters, Evelyn Rosnick, Landover Hills, MD; Norma Wheatley, Luzerne; Nancy Oliver, Loyalville. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. A. James Cara, pastor of the Bennett Presbyterian Church, Luzerne, officiating. J Interment will be in St. Nicho- las Cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. KT extends bagged leaf pickup | The Kingston Township Board of Supervisors has announced the annual pick up of bagged leaves has been extended until Decem- ber 1, due to the inclement weather the past week. Leaves must be bagged and placed at the curbside for pick- up. The pick-up is limited to" bagged leaves only. Township crews will be con- ducting the pick-up between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., Mon- day through Friday.
