Interment, Maple Grove Ceme- tery, Pikes Creek. STEPHAN ZNEIMER Stephan Zneimer, of White Birch Lane, Dallas, died Nov. 9, +1995, at Wilkes-Barre General - Hospital, after suffering a seizure. A native of New York City, he was the son of the late Edward and Gertrude Segale Zneimer. He graduated from the City College of New York, class of 1938, with a bachelor's degree in busi- ness administration. He prac- ticed in New York City from 1941 until 1946, before moving to Wilkes-Barre, where he conducted -a practice under his own name. He had been affiliated with the company of Baron Strassman & Zneimer since 1980. : He was a member of numerous committees in the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Ac- countants. He was chairman of the subcommittee hosting the Pennsylvania Delegation to the United States Congress. He was chairman of the ad hoc commit- tee, straddling the committees on . federal, state and municipal taxa- tion and legislation. He also published numerous articles in the CPA Journal. He was a member of the Jewish Community Center Board of Trus- tees, Wilkes-Barre - | He was an Eternal Light mem- ber of Temple Israel, Wilkes-Barre and had been its financial secre- tary for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, the for- mer Selma Kohn; a son, Richard, Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Carole Heidel, Philadelphia; two grandchildren. Interment, Temple Israel Ceme- tery, Swoyersville. MARY RUGGERE Mary Doris Ruggere, 84, of Chase Road, Shavertown, King- ston Township, died Nov. 6, 1995, at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cam- bridge, Mass. Born on Jan. 12, 1911, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daugh- ter of the late James and Mary Celestine Lyons Finn. She was educated in the Wilkes- Barre Schools and was a member of St. Therese’s Roman Catholic Church, Shavertown. She was formerly employed for many years by the Beverly's Hat Shop and various clothing stores in Wilkes-Barre. She worked as a floor lady in the garment industry before retiring in 1975. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Samuel, and a daugh- ter, Mary Doris, Medford, Mass. Interment, Mount Olivet Ceme- tery, Carverton, Kingston Town- ship. FRED ROSENCRANS Fred L. Rosencrans, 83, of Dallas, died Nov. 7, 1995, at his home. Born on Nov. 1, 1912, in Slocum, he was the son of the late Jesse and Martha Burket Rosen- crans. - He attended local schools and was a member of the Wilkes-Barre congregation of the World Wide Church of God serving as a dea- con. He was employed as a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service, serving in Pittston and Wyoming, before retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran, who served with the calvary. He was a member of the Dis- abled American Veterans Com- manders Club. He was preceded in death by his sister, Amelia Fawcett; broth- ers, Clinton and Grant. Surviving are daughters, Alma E. Dombek, Tunkhannock; Joanna Sue Hoskins, Mill City; sons, Harry L., of Okeechobee, Fla. and Fred A. of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grand- children. Interment, Chapel Lawn Me- morial Park, Dallas. OSCAR THORNTON Oscar “Alabam” Thornton of Noxen, died Nov. 13, 1995 at Geisinger Medical Center, Dan- ville. Born April 5, 1925, in Coffee Springs, Ala., he was the son of the late Oscar and Vera Knott Thornton. He moved to Kunkle almost 40 years ago when he married the former Ida Smith. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and was an avid out- doorsman. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, William, brothers, Elmer and Gilbert; sister, Vivian. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Sue) Rosser Jr., Dallas; sons, Daniel, Harding; Jay, Noxen; three grandchildren; brothers, Bob, Charles and Raymond, all of Alabama; sisters, Gladys Magno- lia and Gloria Webb, both of Ala- bama; Mary Brooks, Washington, D.C.; Betty Gibbons, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
