In addition to being a striking statement of emotion, the Clothesline Project's purpose is to “break the silence” covering the enormity of the problem of violence against women. It is presented in cooperation with Misericordia’s Campus Ministry in recognition of National The Clothesline Exhibit, made by and for women who have survived violence or rape, will appear at College Misericordia starting October 14. College to host unique exhibit on abuse The MacDonald Art Gallery at College Mis- ericordia will present an unusual exhibition beginning October 14. “The Clothesline Proj- ect: Bearing Witness to Violence Against Women," is a display of more than 50 t-shirts decorated by survivors of abuse or rape, or by someone close to a victim. The exhibition will run through November 5. The gallery is open to the public and there is no admission Domestic Violence Month. The Clothesline Project is on loan from the Women's Center at Dickinson College, Car- lisle, and is part of a national project. The first clothesline was created in 1991 through the Cape Cod Women's Agenda, a branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom.
