Johnson is a student at the | University of the Arts, Philadel- phia. He began studying art while in the 6th grade with Dallas artist © Sue Hand, winning many prizes _ for his drawings, watercolors, and acrylics. He has served as a juror for several art shows. On display at the bank are a series of works in oils, which depict Johnson's painterly style. Some . pieces are bold in shape and color. One almost Baroque painting of an old shoe stares back at the viewer with an honest appraisal. “Johnson exhibits paintings “at Mellon Bank in Dallas Another piece entitled “Metal”, could be a wheelchair or musical instruments, but is in actuality, a study of an old metal “found ob- jeet”. Andrew Johnson, the son of Richard and Sarah Johnson of Dallas, is a graduate of Dallas High School. He is a summer art instructor at Sue Hand's Imagery where he teaches portfolio prepa- ration and advanced drawing and monoprint. His exhibit of artwork is open to the public in the lobby of the Mellon Bank, Main Street, Dallas, during regular business hours through August 31. Arts at Hayfield to feature The Anzalone Brothers The well-known sing-along . group, The Anzalone Brothers, will ~ perform at the Arts at Hayfield ~~ Summer Festival, August 27, at - the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus in Lehman. A juried craft show, Summer ~ Festival assures its patrons qual- ity artwork, crafts and jewelry. - More than 80 booths of displays ~ from stoneware to leather goods - are scheduled to be featured be- - tween 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the ~ festival. The Anzalone Brothers have been performing together for a number of years and use their musical talent to help raise money for various community events.
