Wyoming Seminary alumna Louise Loucks Moore of Dallas is congratulated by Sem presi- dent H. Jeremy Packard. Moore was honored with the Wyo- ming Seminary Alumni Association Award. Louise Moore honored for service to Seminary Dallas resident Louise Loucks Moore was honored recently with Wyoming Seminany’s Alumni Association Award for her dedica- tion and valuable service to the school. Moore, a 1955 graduate ofWyo- ming Seminary has served as president of the school’s Alumni Association, chairperson of the annual fund phonathon, and co- chairperson of the school’s musi- cal celebration in honor of its 150th anniversary. She has organized special «venis sponsored by the alumni council and hosted a reunion brunch this year for members of : the Class of 1955. A graduate of the University of Miami, Moore also studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Wilkes College and College Misericordia. From 1967 to 1980, she taught English, speech and drama at Wyoming Seminary's Upper School in Kingston; in 1980, she returned to teaching at the ele- mentary level as a second-grade teacher at Seminary's Lower School. She was named an emeritus faculty member in 1989. An ac- tive community volunteer, she has served as president of the Junior League of Wilkes-Barre. She and her husband, John, reside in Dallas. Her two chil- dren, Beth Jennings Diachenko and Blair Jennings, are gradu- ates of Wyoming Seminary. Carverton U.M. KYLE AND DEVIN WILLIAMS Performing arts camp for Kids to be held July 24 The NE Junior Players, a non- profityouth theater company, will present a Summer Performing Arts Day Camp for local youth ages six years and up, and a program for teens. Theatre Camp for both age groups will be offered in the Back Mountain July 24-28, concentrat- ing on Musical Theatre; a second camp week offered in Pittston July 31-Aug. 4, concentrating on Musical Theatre (but with differ- ent activities and scripts than week #1 for those who wish to attend both Musical Theatre Camps; and a third Camp week Aug. 7-11 in the Back Mountain concentrating on Comedy and Drama. These camp weeks are fun and educational, no theatre or per- forming arts experience of any type is necessary, only a desire to meet other young people, make new friends, learn about acting/ theatre /dance/music etc. and have a fun camp experience. Younger campers will attend 10 to 2 p.m., while the teen pro- gram will run 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Performing Arts Camp fees are $80-$85. A 10% discount is of- fered to families registering more than one child. NE Junior Players hopes this project will raise funds needed to not only run a great camp, but also to underwrite costs of a December Family Musical produc- tion.
