14 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, June 7, 1995 Special farm loans available The Consolidated Farm Serv- ice Agency (CFSA) (formerly Farm- ers Home Administration) has a loan program designed to help members of social disadvantaged groups, including minorities, to acquire land for farming in Penn- sylvania and/or to provide oper- ating funds. Under the program, CFSA will try to find persons in those cate- gories who are interested in farm- ing and can qualify for either a direct or guaranteed farm owner- ship loan and/or operating loan. CFSA can also provide other loan and technical assistance, if started. Socially disadvantaged popu- lation groups are Hispanics, Na- tive Americans, Blacks, Asians and Pacific Islanders. The defini- tion was recently expanded to include women. Persons who think they might be eligible and who are in farming or who would like to become fani- ers are urged to contact the Rural Economic and Community Devel- opment (RECD) County Offic, (formerly Farmers Home Admini- stration) (FmHA), located at 911 West Main Street, Plymouth, PA.
