Sue also originated the idea and coordinated the production of the Back Mountain Color and Read Book, sold to benefit the Back Mountain Memorial Library. In an effort to raise funds for a local public Christian radio sta- tion, she created an annual scrip- ture calendar seven years ago. Sue is the founder and a signa- ture member of the Pennsylvania En Plein Air Society, dedicated to painting on location in the out of doors, is open to all interested - individuals of any level of artistic ability. She has created and coordi- nated a School's End Contest, giving children in grades K through 6 an opportunity to earn recogni- ticipated in the displays at the Luzerne County Fair, the Fine Arts Fiesta, the Folk Festival and the Holiday Fair at the Luzerne County Courthouse. She has set up shows at Col- lege Misericordia, the Denison House, the Wyoming Valley His- torical and Geological Society, the Osterhout Library and the Back Mountain Library. She has taught classes for adults and children at libraries, 7 schools, and Girl Scout troops, and has donated embroidered objects to the Festival of Trees, the Osterhout Library, the First Presbyterian Church of Wilkes- Barre and SHARE. The community is invited to join with Penn's Woods Girl Scout Council to salute the Women of Distinction.
