2 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, February 22, 1995 TTT Computer workshops offered at Penn State A series of microcomputer workshops will begin at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus, March 1 in which participants will receive hands-on training on individual computer stations in the new state-of-the-art micro- computer lab at the campus in Lehman. e Workshops in the basics in- clude keyboarding skills, intro- duction to computers, the Win- dows 3.1 environment, and using DOS 6.2. ~» Word processing workshops include Word 6.0, WordPerfect 6.0 and WordPerfect 5.1. e Spreadsheet workshops are in Excel 5.0 and Lotus 1-2-3, and an introduction to database man- agement workshop will use Mi- crosoft’'s Access program. e Penn State also offers desk- top publishing workshops in Pow- erpoint, CorelDraw, WordPerfect "6.0 Graphics, Aldus Pagemaker 5.0 and three network training courses on Novell, taught by an industry specialist. e A new 13-week course en- titled Microcomputer Applications in Business which can be taken for three credits or as a non-credit workshop, which provides an introduction to the current and most frequently used software applications in business - Win- dows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access. * e Demonstration courses on the Internet, the information super- highway, which will include the history, user tools, and implica- tions for the future of communi- cations, will be offered in June.
