She received a BSN in nursing and is a registered nurse in the oncology department of the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Joseph is a 1987 graduate of Red Bank Regional High School, New Jersey and a 1992 graduate of West Chester University with a'BS degree in criminal justice. He is a police officer in Baltimore County, MD. A September 1995, wedding is planned at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. Xin Tian (Alice) Yang weds Karl J. Hoffman Xin Tian (Alice) Yang of Dallas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kai Hong Yang of Guangzhou, China, became the bride of Karl J. Hoffman of Harrisburg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hoffman of Plains at 12 p.m. September 17, 1994. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Paster David Mansfield at Huntsville Christian Church, Dallas. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, chose Mrs. Nina Hoffman McCann, sister of the groom, as the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Jessica Chen of Wilkes-Barre, cousin to the bride, and Miss Renee Mazzei of Scranton and Harrisburg. The groom chose Richard McCann, brother-in-law, as best man. Ushers were Paul Hoffman, Jr., of Boston, brother of the groom and Thomas Burkhart of Kingston. Colin McCann, nephew of the groom served as ring bearer. Selected Scripture was read by Fred Williams of Lemoyne in English and the bride’s father in Chinese. Musical selections were performed by pianist/organist Kevin O’Malia and soloist Christine Katsock. The bride's mother, the groom's mother and special honoree Miss Elma Major of Dallas and Lemoyne, were distinguished and presented with a red rose by the bride at the ceremony. Areception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Fellowship Hall of the church. Brother of the groom, Mark Hoffman of Harleysville was the master of ceremony and guitarist Joseph Vogwist performed folk music selections. The groom's parents hosted a homemade rehearsal dinner at their home. The bride and groom were honored at an engagement party given by groom's parents in May. The bride is a 1990 graduate of Zhongshan University, Guangzhou, China with a B.S. in Chemistry, and a 1994 graduate of Wilkes University with a Masters of Health Administration.
