14 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, December 14, 1994 Police investigate gunshots Dallas Township police are investigating reports of several gunshots about 10 p.m. Monday night. Shots were heard along Lower Demunds Road from East Dallas to Fernbrook. An elderly woman called the Back Mountain Communication Center to report seeing a flash at the same time as the shots. The shots were heard at the office of The Dallas Post. Paul Rismiller, the newspaper's production manager, said he thought they were from a small caliber rifle. Shots also were reported along Lake Street in Dallas Borough. No damage was reported. A police report was not available in time for this issue. Obituaries GERALD DYMOND Gerald V. Dymond, 82, of Sara- sota, Fla., died Dec. 9, 1994. He was born Sept. 12, 1912 in Pittston, and moved to Sarsota in 1980 from Homestead, FL. He was a self-employed farmer until his retirement. WILLIAM MARTIN William J. (Bill) Martin, 65, of McMinnville, Ore., died Dec. 5, 1994, in London, England. Born in Sweet Valley, Oct. 13, 1929, he was a son of the late David and Thelma Culp Martin. . He was educated in Sweet Val- ley schools and served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War. After the service, he attended Dupont Blasting School and be- came an explosives expert with construction companies. He was employed by S.J. Groves & Son, Minneapolis, for 18 years and the Bechtel Corp. for the last 13 years. He worked in Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India and Argen- tina. Heresided in Gresham, ORand Newberg, OR for one year and in McMinnville for the last five months. He and his wife, the former Aileen Forney were married July 4, 1953 in Wilkes-Barre. Surviving in addition to his wife, are sons, David, Newberg, OR; Stephen, Stevenson, WA; William, Tigard, OR; daughter, Elizabeth Martin, McMinnville, OR; eight grandchildren; brother, James, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Joyce Youden and Ruth Parsons, Sweet Valley. She had been a resident of Dallas for many years and ear- lier resided in Trucksville. Mrs. Myers was a member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Her husband, Clarence L., died in 1966. She also was preceded in death by stepsisters, Esther Lay- bach and Gertrude Westover; stepbrothers, Harvey and Harold Chapin. Natt, 83, of Center- moreland died Dec. 6, 1994, at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, after a short illness. Born in Swoyersville, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jo- seph Natt. He attended Swoyersville schools and had been a resident of Centermoreland most of his life. He was first employed as a coal miner in the Swoyersville area. He owned and operated Natt's Farm, Centermoreland, for the past 45 years. He and his wife, the former Rose Krantz had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Dec. 2.
