The year-long preceptorship program consists of an orientation, regular observational visits to the emergency room and occasional group meetings. Students sign up for regular two-hour shifts in the emergency room, usually under the guidance of their designated emergency medical physician. EMS program recognized Students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Services curriculum at Luzerne County Community College recently received a 100% passing rate on the State Paramedic Examination. The LCCC EMS curriculum prepares technically-competent Emer- gency Medical Technician-Paramedics for state certification and pro- vides students with both the clinical and administrative skills neces- sary in today’s EMS system. First place percussionists The award-winning Lake-Lehman percussion section recently took the first place trophy in Group 11 competition at the Lo r Atlantic Coast Championships, Nov. 12 at the Lackawanna County Multi-Purpose Stadium, Moosic. The Knights scored 9.8 out of a possible 10 points, competing against 24 other bands from around the East Coast. The Atlantic Coast Championships was the final competition for this year, with the percussion section coming in first in all prior competitions, first place at the Chapter 7 Group 11 Champion- ships at the Mid-Valiey High School in Throop Nov. 6.
