1] 10 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, November 16, 1994 ‘In a tough week, Chabala wins Power Points again The Buffalo Bills dynasty may be coming to an end, but the Chabala family string of local Power Points wins continues. It was a rough week for game - players, as a slew of upsets brought the average statewide . winning score down to an even + 100 points. Beth Chabala took the local title with an 87 point score, mark- ing her second turn at the top, and the third straight week of a “Chabala” victory. Rhonda Irvin of Altoona was the big winner, making enough smart picks to hit a 111 point score. “If the city sounds cute, I pick it,” Rhonda said of her win- ning style. As a local weekly winner, Ch- abala will receive $25 cash from The Dallas Post, and a free month of HBO from Tele-Media, the co- sponsor of the contest. Should a local entrant win the statewide contest, he or she would receive $750 from Power Points, plus the local prizes. Entries for this week's contest must be deposited by 2 p.m., Fri- day. They may be dropped off at the office of The Dallas Post, at 45 Main Road, Dallas, or at Tele- Media on the Harveys Lake High- way. Coach (continued from page 1) salary for another year. “It doesn’t involve the person,” Michael said. “It’s the amount. I think Mr. Kvashay should earn more money.” After his $600 salary was ap- proved, Kvashay told the board he was resigning, “effective immedi- ately.” At that point, the track team walked out of the meeting. “Icouldn’t believe that the board let him go so easily,” said Jared Rutt after the meeting. “We're shocked,” said Steve Roosa. “We'll do everything pos- sible to keep our program and our coach. We'll train on our own and do the same things we did with coach Kvashay.” “I'm very angry,” said Amanda Eisenhart. “The track program could have meant a college schol- arship for me- I'll lose it now. Our team is very close, like brothers and sisters.” “He's the best coach lever had,” said Matt Pelak. “The board has misprioritized track and field.
