12 ine vallas Post Dallas, PA wednesday, November 9, 1994 Lake-Lehman's Marching Knights earn more awards The Lake-Lehman band re- cently competed in the “Children’s Miracle March East” held at the Lackawanna County Multi-pur- pose Stadium at Montage. The band placed first in the Group II competition, received awards for “Best Percussion”, “Best Music” and “Best Bandfront”. The 1994 Field Show, “John Williams - Fanfares and Themes”, featuring music from the movie “Empire of the Sun”. Trumpet soloist is Terry Newell and oboe soloist is April Masters. The band is directed by Ed- ward A. Richards, assisted by Maureen Richards. Megan Mosier is drum major. Percussion instructors are Dave Gambal and Leslie Higgins. Color Guard instructors are John Tag- gart and Maureen Richards. The Lake-Lehman Band has earned first place awards in all of their competitions this season and have earned the Atlantic Coast Championship eight consecutive times.
