Scoring for the Raiders were ‘Jonathan Barbose (2), Mitch Ruddy (2) and Matt Rondina. Two point conversions were made by Bobby Zaruta and Rondina. Playing well for the offense were ‘William Siglin, Billy Youells, Matt Tucker and Nick Matthewson and for the defense, Stephen Salavan- tis, Danny Piccillo and Elijah Miller. Mathewson recovered two fumbles and Barbose and Ruddy got interceptions. Raiders B Team lost by a score of 26-0. Playing well for the de- fense were Andrew Ruddy and Kingston Twp. Dallas A-Team played another outstanding game but could not come up with the win. Dallas Mini-Mounts will play their final away game on Oct. 23 against the Plymouth Indians. A fumble was recov- ered by Joseph Stuppino. Raiders will play their last game of the season Oct. 23 at the Dallas ‘High School field against the Lake- Lehman Junior Knights. Lake-Lehman Jr. Knights The Lake-Lehman Jr. Knights celebrated homecoming Sunday honoring the senior cheerleaders and football players. Honored at the game were Mary Katherine Sprau, Shasta Sander, Nina Van Camp, Jake Rambus, Clay Cad- walder, Irv Nulton, William Bloom, Eric Pimm, Palmer Edwards, and Curtis Evans. In addition, club members for four years receiving jackets were Carrie Thorne, Amy Sorber, Jesse Bixby, Shawn Osmen, Nicole Parsons and David Harris. Game action against the Wilkes-Barre Bears had the C- Team facing a tough loss.. After a scoreless first quarter, Wilkes- Barre scored twice in the second quarter for a 14-0 lead at the half. Despite a hard played game by all C-Team players and a single score _byJohn Marthin the fourth quar- ter, the final score was 20-6. The B-Team continues to show a strong team effort on both of- fense and defense. With scoring drives by Joey Shurmaitis for two 50-yard TD runs an interception run for a TD, a 60-yard TD run and as 70-yard touchdown run by Justin Brink, the B-Team was victorious 36-8. The B-Team remains tied for first place in their division with strong playoff con- tention. The A-Team game had Lehman close to the goal line several times but couldn't score, despite a great offensive line for the Knights. The defense played a superb game, also keeping Wilkes-Barre from scoring. The game ended with a 0-0 tie. Lehman will travel to play King- ston Township Oct. 23 with the first game starting at noon. Kunkle brought the Dallas lead to 28-3, when he pitted the ball between the uprights for his fourth extra point of the game. “We felt that this might be the first game all year we played four quarters of football.” Coach Jackson said after the game. “We're excited about that because there have been a lot of times when we've played two or two and one-half quarters. We're excited about playing four quarters against a good team.” Even with this tremendous lead and only 9:57 left to play in the game, the Dallas defense did not rest. They did not allow the Tro- jan offense any scoring opportu- nities, and the game ended with @ the clock winding down as the Dallas Mountaineers walked off the field victorious again. “We're really pleased with our performance in all phases of the game,” said Coach Jackson. “Our kicking game was good. We passed well when we had to. Our pass protection was good and we made some key passes in key situations. We played a pretty penalty-free game. It was a total team effort, © offensive line, running backs, everybody. The coaching staff did a great job preparing these kids."
