Dr. Anatoli Ivanov has been appointed assistant professor of mathematics. He has his B.S. and Ph.D. in mathematics from - Kiev State University. He has a B.A. in biology from Antioch College, an M.F.A. in creative writing from Columbia and an M.A. and Ph.D. in English literature from the State Univer- sity of New York at Binghamton. Dr. Chin worked 13 years as a biologist before de ciding to devote himself to the writing of poetry and the teaching of English litera- ture. He is the author of a published poetry collection, Chalked in Orange, and several of his poems have been published in poetry journals. He will teach creative writing and contemporary litera- ture. Dr. Ashok Jaie has been ap- pointed a visiting assistant pro- fessor of physics for 1994-95 to replace Dr. Steven Alston, who is on sabbatical leave. Cynthia Rheinheimer has been appointed instructor of physics for 1994-95 to replae Dr. Winter while he is acting Campus Execu- tive Officer. Ms. Rheinheimer has a B.S. in Education from Bloomsburg University and an M.S. in Physics from Wilkes Uni- versity. She has taught in the Tunkhan- nock and Pocono Mountain School Districts, and has been an ad- junct Penn State faculty member since 1991. Gosart wins PSU government post John Gosart, son of Fred and Myra Gosart of Harrisburg, has recently been elected Coordinator of the Council of Comonwealth » Student Governments at Penn- syvlania State University. He is the grandson of Betty Gosart and the late John Gosart of Shavertown and the late Mayor and Mrs. Norti Berti of Dallas. John has a sister Erica, a ninth grade honor student at Central Dauaphin High School, Harris- burg. Gosart will head the represen- tative voice of all 30,000 students attending Penn State's 19 com- monwealth campuses,attend meetings of the Association of Big 10 Schools (ABTS) and act as ex- officio member of such groups as the Alumni Association and other advisory committees.
