2 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, August 31, 1994 MacDonald Art Gallery to exhibit new acquisitions ~ College Misericordia's MacDonald Art Gallery will be hosting “Mixed Media,” an exhibit featuring recent additions to the permanent collection, September 6-30. : The permanent collection con- sists of water colors by artists such as David Armstrong, Francis Garrahan and local artist Sue Hand, oil paintings by Mike Molnar and Laureen Sabol and a clay sculpture by Herb Simon. The exhibit also includes hand- made paper, pencil drawings, mixed-media works and both black and white photographs. Exhibitions in the MacDonald Art Gallery are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 12-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; Friday, 12-5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. The Gallery is closed Monday. Memberships to the Gallery are welcome. STEVE ALLEN Steverino will kick off United Way campaign Crash sends three to hospital Dallas Township police are investigating a two-car accident on Lower Demunds Road at the intersection with Campground Hill and Edinger Hill shortly after 8 p.m. August 24. Police said that a 1988 Acura operated by David Rasmark; 29, of Dallas, was traveling north on Lower Demunds Road when it struck the right side of a 1990 Ford Tempo operated by Carrie Kinney, 28, of Tunkhannock, which pulled across Lower Demunds Road from Campground Hill and in front of the Kasmark vehicle. Kinney, Kasmark and his passenger, Jason Miller, 20, of Swoy- ersville, were taken to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center by ambulances from Dallas and Kunkle, where they were treated and released, according to an emergency room spokesperson. Police said that there was no evidence of alcohol being involved in the accident. Everyone was wearing seatbelts, police said. Police were assisted at the scene by Medic-I and the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Lab. Patrolman Robert Jolley is the investigating officer. Luzerne County Fair sets Family Day Sept. 11, will be Family Day at the Luzerne County Fair. Lb Activities include tug of war, balloon race, teaspoon and eggs race, teaspoon and popcorn race, apple dunking, three legged race, egg toss, . water balloon toss, ball in basket, racing with ball using legs only, water race, ring toss and little ball catch. The contest is open to children of all ages. Children should be in the contest area near the 4-H building approximately 50 minutes before the start of the contests. The Luzerne County Fair will be held September 7 through the 1 ith on Route 118 in Lehman-Dallas Twp. For more information, call 675-FAIR. 4, © To dance at Citrus Bowl During auditions held in Mountaintop last spring, Alyssa Askéw was selected as a member of Northeastern Pennsylvania's dance team, “Kaleidoscope”, which will perform in the 1995 Florida Citrus Bowl's Halftime Show on January 2, in Orlando. The team of 31 dancers will travel to Orlando the end of December. Alyssa is the 7-year-old daughter of Cory and Peggy Askew of Dallas. She is also a student at the Back Mountain Dance Studio where she has studied tap and jazz for the last three years with owner/instruc- tor Bob Oberst. Classes met in rented space in a downtown building until 1968, when it relocated to the old Conyngham estate in Lehman Town- Fp. 0 State is Luzerne County's oldest institution of higher learning, offering both two-year associate degree programs and ‘the first two years of a four-year degree program, in which stu- dents transfer to other Penn State campuses or other schools to complete their degrees.
