Vaida has been named to the position of music director of the Shavertown United Methodist Church, succeeding Rosendo E. Santos, who had served for the past seven years. Vaida is chairman of the Fine Arts Department at Wyoming Seminary, Kingston. He directs the school's choral program and the Madrigal Singers. He holds a master’s degree from Marywood College, and is a member of the Music Educators National Conference and the American Choral Directors Asso- ciation. He was recently named president-elect for District 9 of the Pennsylvania Music Educa- tors Association. . He and his wife, Deborah, have two children, John and Aria, and reside in Shavertown. JOHN M.
