10 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, February 23, 1994 Middle School ski racers finish strong in Keystones The racing team from Dallas Middle School skied to a strong finish in the Keystone Winter Games held at Montage Moun- tain recently. Stacey Wagner won a silver medal in the Women's U-15 Dual Slalom (Division B). She placed sixth in the Women's U-15 Modi- fied GS (Division B). Competing in the Men's U-15 Modified GS (Division A) were Chris Nattress (5th), Chris Sch- neider (6th), and C.J. Tyrrell (12th). Individual times for team members differed by less than one second in the Men's U-15 Dual Slalom (Division A); Tyrrell (5th), Nattress (6th) and Schnei- der (7th). Team members train with the Junior Racer program at Montage and they ski an average of four days every week. Theirlastrace of the season will be the Interscho- lastic Race finals at Montage on February 27. L-L Field Hockey Parents to meet March 1 The Lake-Lehman Field Hockey Parents Association will hold its next meeting on March 1, at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of the senior high school. The agenda for the meeting will include the election of officers, the senior scholarship award and a report on the revamping of the summer field hockey camp. The parents of girls who participate in the field hockey program are encouraged to attend and become actively involved in the association. Spencer, 81, of Meadows Apartments, Dallas, died Feb. 19, 1994, in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston. Born in Lake Township, she was the daughter of the late Wil- liam and Bertha Randall Baer. "She was a graduate of Lake Town- ship schools and resided on Bri- arcrest Road, Idetown, for 50 years before moving to Dallas four years ago. | Prior to her retirement, she was a nurses’ aide at the Maple Hill Nursing Home, Lehman. She was a member of the Community Church of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russel; son, Her- bert. MARK SHISSION Mark C. Shission, 19, of RR 1, Sweet Valley, died Feb. 14, 1994, in Ross Township. Born in Kingston, Aug. 30, 1974, he was the son of Daniel A. and Rosemary Gavlick Shission, with whom he resided. He was a 1992 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, where he partici- pated in basketball, golf and track. He was a sophomore nursing student at College Misericordia, Dallas. He was a member of the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania and the Commuter Council of College Misericordia. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth. He ran in and completed the New York Marathon in November 1993, completed in the Philadel- phia Half Marathon and ran in many local races. He was also a weightlifter and an avid outdoors- man and hunter.
