The Annual Fund Drive is Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s prime source of contributions for the scholarship fund, which helps worthy students attend college. Many of the scholarship recipients are the first in their families to attend college, and nearly all of the recipients are from this area. Merit scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to five students who excel in academics. The scholarships will be awarded regardless of economic need. Recipients may also apply for fi- nancial aid if further assistance is needed. The awards are granted to students who combine outstand- ing performance on a competitive examination, with high qualities of citizenship, and a strong record of academic achievement.
