Kastenbum told the officer that he had seen a similar incident in a movie and wanted to try it himself, according to the report. Four juveniles were with him at the time, police said. Police chief Jack Fowler said that police will cite anyone found attempting to duplicate this movie stunt, even if they are injured because of their actions. Monroe Township POLICE SEEK INFO ON FATAL ACCIDENT The Pennsylvania State Police Tunkhannock Barracks are seeking ‘witnesses or information on an accident November 23 at 11:30 p.m. between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer, which claimed the life of a Back Mountain man. Police said that a 1985 Isuzu pickup truck operated by Robert Charles Hislop, 36, of RR 1 Tunkhannock, had been traveling north on Route 309 near Smith's Country Store in Noxen, when for an unknown reason it went into the southbound lane, into the path of a 1992 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by Douglas S. Cole, 30, of Mainesburg, PA. Hislop was pronounced dead at the scene by Wyoming County Deputy Coroner Alan Thatcher, police said. Cole was uninjured. The pickup truck was totaled, while the tractor-trailer sustained minor front-end damage, according to the report. Trooper Walter J. Koehler investigated the accident. Kunkle Fire and Ambulance Company assisted at the scene. Police are asking witnesses or anyone who saw Hislop before the accident to contact them at 836-2141. . Jackson Township MAN CITED IN HIT AND RUN According to the Pennsylvania State Police Wyoming Barracks, Keith Richard Thomas, 29, of Dallas, was cited for numerous violations after leaving the scene of an accident on Chase Road in Jackson Township shortly after 5:30 p.m. November 26. Police said that the Thomas vehicle, a 1984 Chevrolet pickup truck, was traveling west on Chase Road when it left the roadway and struck a stone wall along the front of property owned by Ruth Norris, severely damaging 300 feet of wall and blowing out a tire on the front of his truck. Thomas drove from the scene on the bare rim and was apprehended by police shortly thereafter, according to the report. DOVE Post Staff The Lake-Lehman teachers and non-professional staff raised a record $6,015 in pledges and contributions for the annual Wyoming Valley United Way campaign. According to drive chairman Marilyn Glogowski, nearly all of the district's employees partici- pated in the fund drive, which exceeded last year’s total and this year's goal. Participating employees also had their names entered in a drawing for one of 10 gift certifi- cates from businesses in the dis- trict. “The prize drawing was Dr. Nancy Davis's idea,” Glogowski said. “She solicited the gift certifi- cates for the drawing.” Gift certificate winners were: Justie Cook, an entertainment coupon book as first prize; Julie Iwansowski, a certificate for the Villa Roma as second prize; Mi- chael Toole, a Dine-a-Mate cou- pon book as third prize and cer- tificate winners Susan Young, The Castle Inn; Jane Morris, The Overbrook Inn, Sharon Yakabo- vicz, The Red Rooster; Mike Sha- rock, The Grotto; Barbara Baigis, The Grotto; Darlene Smith, Lehman Sunoco, and Mary Slaby, Penn General.
