In memory of Clarence Shupp, who died October 25, 1993 This week we said “good by” to a special, unique person. Most of us knew him recently as a busy, hardworking person who spent a great deal of time calling on and visiting the sick and “old _ people” who were usually younger than he was. Or we thought of him «as he drove his much-loved yellow car as a 92-year old man and shook “heads and prayed. In his younger days you may remember him as a busy carpenter who liked to fish, a church goer who found extra services to attend, a person who began his vacation by driving straight through to Florida. Some of us called him Shuppy...or Clarence...or Dad...Papa or randpa. We knew he was direct, straight-forward; he could be bossy and grumpy and funny and loving. He wanted very much for us and for others to live for God and he made this very clear. Grandpa was the same the last weekend of his life as he was slowly dying in the hospital bed. He frequently said, “I lived for God. Ilove you. J want to go home to heaven.” . He said, “Don’t tell me what I like” when being encouraged to eat a little squash. His answer to the question, “Grandpa, can you see me?” wstill brings a smile. He said, “I can see you a mile away.” Take care of “Hilda” was a special request that he hoped we would remember. I personally do not expect Grandpa to wait for us just inside the Eastern Gate in Heaven. I think he will be very busy and we will have to listen and look to find him there. We will though. See you later Grandpa. We love you too His Granddaughter PERSONAL LOANS $600 TO $10,000 Apply by phone or in person Mon. - Fri. 9-5 Including Sat. ‘til 1 P.M.
