Included in the 5-0 record was ‘a streak of three consecutive shutouts to start the season, ‘which tied the school record for ‘the most consecutive blankings “atthe beginning of a season (1985, ‘and 1992). One oftwo players to start every ‘game last year and this year, , Lukasavage was named to the All- ‘Tournament Team of the Drew . Fall Festival and the tournament ' Defensive MVP after she helped * shutout both of Drew's opponents and limit them to just six shots combined. Behnd the steady play of Luka- savage the Rangers have posted four shutouts in their first five games and have a team goals against average of 0.20. Drew has outscored its first five opponents by a total of 21-1. The 5-0 start for the Rangers extends their undefeated streak in the month of September to 21 games as they are 20-0-1 in their last 21 games in the first month of the season. The team has not lost in the month of September since a 3-1 loss to Muhlenberg on Sep- tember 18, 1950. Lukasavage is majoring in English at Drew and is the daugh- ter of Daniel and Mary Alice Luka- savage of Dallas. Buss named conference ‘defensive player of week i Wilkes University senior line- backer Mark Buss was named the - Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) rand Eastern College Athletic : Conference (ECAC) Division III = South Defensive Player of the Week < for his play against Upsala Col- clege on Saturday, Sept. 25. Buss, a 62", 232 pounder, vearned the double honor after J making 13 tackles, recovering a «fumble, and intercepting a pass in a 23-14 win over the Vikings. Upsala had come into the game averaging 340 yards in offense but Buss and his fellow team- mates limited the Vikings to just 157 yards in total offense. A sociology major at Wilkes, Buss, who is second on the team in tackles this season with 26, was also named the ECAC Player of the Week after the same week- end of play in 1992. Buss, who has battled from a severe knee injury to play this year, is a resident of Dallas. Becky Yurko on U of S field hockey team r Rebecca Ann Yurko, a former field hockey star at Dallas Senior High i School has begun her rookie year as a member of the University of -Scranton varsity field hockey team. Yurko, a solid reserve will add rdepth to Scranton’s defensive unit. i. Sutton, 88, of RR 1, Kunkle, Dallas, died Sept. 28, 1993 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas, where he has been staying for the last four months. Born in Harveys Lake, he was the son of the late Leo and Fannie Kocher Sutton. He had resided in Kunkle for the last 30 years.
