Well that is only part of Girl Scout- ing. Girl Scouts are movers and shakers. Have you ever slept on a battle- ship, camped out at the Boston Science Museum, gone primitive camping, helped serve meals at an area shelter, sung to senior citizens, made candles and photo albums, toured the Nation's Capi- tol or planted trees on Arbor Day? I have! As a Girl Scout Leader I have done all of these and more. As a leader] have experienced so much. Sure, itis work. It takes a little bit of time and patience to make it all work. As a Girl Scout Leader you gain so much in the way of per- sonal growth and satisfaction. We need Girl Scout Leaders. In the Back Mountain Area alone we have need for 10 adults to lead girls. We need you for Daisies (Kindergarten); Brownies (grades 1-3); Juniors (grades 4-6); Cadettes (grades 7-9) and Seniors (grades 10-12). Without adult volunteers we have no troops. Ifyou were ever a Girl Scout and remember the fun try giving a little back by helping out a troop or by becoming a Girl Scout leader. Penns Woods Girl | Scout Council offers a fantastic support system including train- ing and program resources to all of the adult volunteers. Come join us! The best part's the FUN - when you involve your- self with Girl Scouting. Call Ellie Rodda at Penns Woods Council 829-2631 to volunteer. Without leaders we have no program. Getz, big hips, bigger brain, monster mouth—on her tour of the West that Was Suppressed. In Dorfburg, Texas, you can't get much farther out than a jumbo- sized, rabidly P.C. woman who won't shut up and doesn't give a warm cowpie whether you like it or not. Vowing to show all the hometown clods—Sonja embarks upon a quest to find the father she knows only from a worn photo of a Native American trick roper. All true Western heroes are not out- siders. “The Wrong Man" by David E. Fisher is the story of Walter Naman, German-born Jew, natu- ralized American citizen and pro- fesisonal Nazi-hunter who is in- tent on assassinating Gottfried Waldner, the German chancellor, who is about to visit the United States and is supposedly plotting toresurrect the Third Reich. David Melnik, a Mossad agent is dis- patched to meet with the U.S. authorities to prevent the assas- sination and quickly becomes inextricably involved in the case. The manhunt keeps the readeron ' the edge of his chair. “Dark Star” by Alan Furst takes place in Paris, Moscow, Berlin and Prague. In the back alleys and glittering salons of night time Europe, war is already under way, as the So- viet NKVD and the Nazi Gestapo confront each other in a brilliant duel of espionage. On the front line, Adre Szara, survivor, is a’ foreign correspondent for Pravda and he is co-opted by the NKVD, then becomes a full-time spymas- ter in the Red Orchestra spy net- works in Paris. ww + © 4 4 rung fe A eo y ps “a — Don't leave home without us!
