It was 10years ago that the NWGGA selected Wilkes-Barre for the first time to sponsor the 52nd National. The result was the largest gathering in the 52-year history of the WNGGA which brought together 3,500 voices at the Sunday Gymanfa. . , Headquarters for the National Welsh Festival will be the Ramada Hotel which is alsa the location of the Welsh Market Place. General Chairman Jack Pritchard and Vice Chairman Beth Landmesser have arranged a week- end of events beginning Thursday evening at the F.M. Kirby Center with the Nosen Lawen and the Welsh Folk Music Concert. Friday's daytime schedule in- cludes seminars, workshops, chil- dren activities and tours of histori- cal Wyoming Valley, our local Welsh churches and a Scranton deep coal mine. Saturday's daytime activities will be a repeat of the seminars, work- shops and tours. Maternal and Family Health to hold fund- raising golf tournament September 24 Maternal and Family Health Services, Inc. Resource Develop- ment Committee is planning a golftournament to be held Friday, Sept. 24 at Stone Hedge in Tunkhannock. There will be a shot gun start at 12:30 p.m. and the format will be captain and crew. This year’s tournament will be very exciting with a chance to win a car donated by Ken Wallace Dealerships. Each golfer will receive special gifts and may win fabulous prizes. The tournament fee of $65 per golfer includes green fees, carts, luncheon, on course refreshments and a grand buffet dinner held at Shadowbrook Resort.
