The township’s meeting room was also enlarged. New look, more office space for Dallas Township building By GRACE R. DOVE Post Staff Visitors to the Dallas Township building on Route 309 may notice that the inside of the building has had a facelift. Tax collector Leonard Kozick now has the front office all to himself. The planning commis- sion and supervisors’ meeting room and the polling place, which formerly met in Kozick's office, have a new meeting room, com- plete with handicapped-accessible restrooms and a thick moss-green carpet, which will also serve as the township's South District pollling place. Converted from a section of the former garage by roadmaster Frank Wagner and his crew, the meeting room's new entrance is on the building's south side, fac- ing the Country Club shopping center. The antique mahogany super- visors' meeting table, formerly supervisor Phil Walters’ mother’s dining room table, stands in the front of the room, next to the American flag. The police station has a new entrance, on the building's north side by the parking lot, a secure evidence storage room and more office space. “I had our men do the work, which saved us around $22,000," Wagner said. “It took a while because we did it in our spare time over the winter between snow storms.” Township secretary/treasurer Glenn Howell said that the re- modeling cost approximately $24,000, or less than half of what the township would have spent if it had hired a building contractor to do the job.
