She graduated from Lehman High School and from Empire Beauty School, Wilkes-Barre. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Shavertown for 10 years. She was also employed by Natona Mills (Native Textile), Dallas and the Dallas High School cafeteria. She was last employed as a waitress for Franklin's Restaurant and later Friendly's Restaurant, Dallas. She was a member of the Ide- town United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Leslie D. Hoover, celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in October 1992. Montross, 70, of Noxen, died Aug. 2, 1998 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Noxen, he was the son of the late Bert and Edith Patton Montross. He worked for 20 years at the Armour Tannery, Noxen, and for 10years at Red Rock Air Base. He also worked as a security guard for Proctor & Gamble, Meshop- pen. He was a Republican Commit- teeman for Noxen Township and was the Noxen constable. He was a member and certified lay speaker-leader of the Noxen United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He and his wife, the former Eloise Casterline, celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary, March 12. Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughter, Mrs. William (Sharyn) Coole, New Albany; son, Gregory, Noxen; five grandchil- dren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Alton, Tunkhannock; one nephew.
