This 11th annual event will feature the nation’s preeminent preci- sion dual aerobatic team the “French Connection”. This husband and wife, Daniel Heli- goin and Montaine Mallet, began flying as a team in 1977, shortly after coming from France as representatives for the CAP 10 aircraft, which is manufactured by Mudry Avia- tion. - Working from the Dutchess County Airport in New York, they soon earned a reputation for a quality performance that featured aerial grace and preci- sion maneuvers. The red and white striped aircraft are easy to follow in the sky as they hold precise positioning through intricate turns and loops that include their “Mirror Image” and their exclusive “Fleur de Lys". Choreographed with music and poetry plus color wingtip smoke, the French Connection have an additional dimension to airshow flying. The French Connection will be one of many aviation acts in a show that will feature the U.S. Navy Blue Angels preci- sion flight demonstration team. Other attractions will be the U.S. Army Golden Knights SPECIAL ATTRACTION — The "French Connection," Daniel heligoln and Moataine Mallet, a husband and wife air acrobatic team, will be featured at Airshow '93, August 21-22 Parachute Team; Sean D. Tucker, the 1992 Airshow Per- former of the Year, flying the Randolph Sunglass Challenger; Gene Soucy and “Showcat” aircraft, which will be the plat- form for his wingwalking com- panion, Teresa Stokes; Lou Paparazo, a native of Pottsville, PA flying his 320 HP Pitts S-2- S biplane; Team America, the nation’s premier non-military flying team; and a special at- traction, the Grumman “Cat Flight”, in a salute to naval aviation. In addition to the flying acts, there will be power demonstra- tions of the Air Force F-16C “Fighting Falcon” and the Navy F-14 “Tomcat”. On the ground, almost a mile of aircraft of all types will be open for inspec- tion, photography and for the crowd to meet the pilots and crews. These will include a large contingent of warbirds, passenger aircraft, antiques, and contemporary military air- planes from the United States, Canada and England. Tickets will be sold only at the entrance gates and cost $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 through 12, and children under 6 are ad- mitted free when accompanied by an adult. Persons attending are en- couraged to bring chairs and blankets and enjoy the many attractions and displays. Numerous refreshment stands will be staffed by members of non-profit organizations that will benefit from purchases.
