6 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, March 17, 1993 Cub Scout Pack 281 Cobras earn special recycling award . . The Keystone Coca-Cola Bot- “tling Company will present a spe- ‘cial award to Cobra Den Cub Pack 281 from Dallas, for collecting the “most recyclable cans and money “inthe Coca-Cola “Make A Bundle” recycling program. ' The presentation will be made at a special ceremony at the Key- stone Coca-Cola Bottling plant, 300 ‘Oak Street in Pittston, on Satur- day, March 20 at 10 a.m. In atten- ‘dance will be State Sen. Raphael ‘Musto and Al Brogna, executive assistant to State Sen. Robert J. Mellow, President Pro Tempore. |, Cobra Den Cub Pack 281 col- lected 33,600 cans in 1992, turn- ing them into the Keystone Coca- Cola Bottling Company and earn- ing a total of $1,008 for the effort. According to the Cobra Pack’s den leaders, husband and wife team Dave and Beverly Neiman, the money will be used to send Pack 4 Daisies and Cubs members to camp and for a variety of other activities for the group. Keystone Coca-Cola, through its branch programs, contributed over $60,000 to not-for-profit groups participating in its Make A Bundle recycling program in 1992. "Make A Bundle" was launched in 1990 to help community groups, as well as to help better the envi- ronment. Through the unique program, Coca-Cola bottlers across Pennsylvania pay not-for-profit organizations 3 cents per can for Coca-Cola products or any allied brands distributed by Keystone Coca-Cola. Upon joining the pro- gram, groups are issued credit cards and, on designated redemp- tion days, bring their cans and credit cards to their Coca-Cola bottling facility. Receipts are is- sued and checks are sent monthly to all participating groups. ‘The Daisies of Girl Scout Troop 628 met with Den 1 of Cub Scouts Pack 281, Dallas United Methodist Church and discussed the functions of Cub Scouts and Daisies. ‘The two groups exchanged ideas and activities that each do. The ‘purpose was for each to know how the other groups work. = = MEMBERS HONORED - Among the life members, pictured, from left, Mary Manzoni, Mary Reddy, Janis and Tom Winter, Louise Ha- zeltine.
