Meadows honors newly certified nursing assistants The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas, recently held a Certified Nursing Assistants’ (CNA) recogni- tion ceremony to honor graduates of the center's CNA 75 hour train- ing program who attained state certification by successfully com- pleting both written and practical skills testing. A pin and certificate of merit was awarded to each participant by Thomas Sweeney, Administra- tor and Bette Segrave-Daly, RN, Director of Nursing. Families and fellow staff members joined the graduates at a reception immedi- ately following the ceremony. The following meetings are scheduled to be held during the month of March: Tuesday, March 16—Physically challenged 7-8:30 p.m.-Support Group for parents of children who are physi- cally challenged. This group's focus is to stay on top of best practices, augmentative devices, adaptive equipment, learning styles, and facilitated communi- cation. Parents share information with each other and sometimes a meeting is hosted by a parent in their home. Conservation District taking tree orders Luzerne County Conservation District will hold its annual tree sale Saturday, April 17 from 9a.m. to 12 p.m. Trees available are Colorado Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, Oriental Spruce, Balsam Fir and Eastern Hemlock (PA State Tree). These trees are two year trans- plants. We are also offering shrubs, ornamental and blueberries. The ornamental is Serviceberry (also known as the Shadbow). Shrubs - Gibralter (orange) and Red Hot Azaleas, and Purple, White and Mahogany Red Rhododendrons. Bluebery varieties: Spartan and Patriot. The spruce, ornamental and hemlock trees are sold in bundles of 10 and 5 for $15, $12. $11.50, $10.50 and $6 according to the species. The ornamental is $8 per ten. Blueberries are $5.25 each. Azaleas and Rhododendrons are $8 each. Also this year we are offering Organic Cow Manure Compost 40 pound bag at $3 per bag. Supplies are limited and orders must be placed prior to the sale.
