DOVE Post Staff Dallas High School student Kim Kamine recently won a Silver Key Award in the Scholastic Art Awards, a state and national competition for art students, which was sponsored locally by Wilkes University. Her entry, a cast paper sculp- ture of a black and white face, was her first project in this medium, which, unlike papier-mache, uscs only paper and water. “I just started working with some recycled paper and the face came out on its own,” she said. The daughter of Lauretta Balm of Dallas Township, Kim is a sophomore at Dallas. “Kim is an exemplary student who accepts a challenge in what- ever she tries. I'm very pleased,” said art teacher Claire Morris. Principal Frank Galicki said that he is proud of Kim and com- mended Ms. Morris and the art department for their excellent work.
