A one-man show featuring Conrad Bishop, founder of the Independent Eye Theatre, this production brings to life Twain's wit and insightful humor with selections ranging from “The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg” to “Huckleberry Finn.” : Bishop plays men and women, fortunate and unfortunate, with stirring authenticity using chair and podium as his props. Backed by an airbrushed photograph of Twain, he uses voice and gesture to vividly portray more than 70 of his favorite Twain characters. The evening begins with a short selection from “Roughing It,” an autobiographical account of Twain's first trip west. Bishop proceeds to “Cannibalism in the Cars,” a short political satire. He follows with “The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg,” the major piece of the evening before concluding with the raft scene from “Huckleberry Finn.” This presentation is free and open to the public.
