Born at Harveys Lake, Dec. 5, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Ruth Kitchen Avery. She was a graduate of Laketon High School, attended Wyoming Seminary, and graduated from Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse, and also worked as a private duty nurse. She was a former resident of Harveys Lake. She had resided in Dallas since 1963. She was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church and the Alderson United Methodist Church, Harveys Lake. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Antoinette, sister, Lois Avery. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Stanley; daughters, Mrs. Jennie Martin, Dover, Ohio; Mrs. Ellen Page, Syracuse, NY; Elaine, White Plains, NY; sons, David, Pikes Creek; Richard, Dallas; Jan, Towanda; Edward, Dallas; 11 grandchildren. Designed to assist people through the process of grieving after the loss of a loved one, the workshop consists of lectures, small group sharing, and a structured plan of action for working through the pain caused by loss. The grief workshop is a series of two-hour meetings one afternoon a week for six weeks. The meetings will begin on Wednesday January 6 and will be held on consecutive Wednesdays: January 13, 20, 27, February 3 and 10. Lawn ZIBA SMITH SR. Ziba L. Smith Sr., 77, of Spring Hope, North Carolina died Dec. 14, 1992, in the Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount, N.C. Born in Lehman Township, he was a son of the late Albert H. and Emma Hutchins Smith. He attended Lehman Township schools and had resided in Lehman for 61 years before moving to Lakeland, Fla., where he resided for 11 years. He had been aresident of Spring Hope since 1988. Before retiring, he was employed by the Commonwealth Telephone Co., Dallas, where he was a supervisor of the automotive department. He was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church and the XYZ Senior Citizens Group, Spring Hope. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Smith, who died in 1983; son, Ziba L. Smith Jr., who died in 1967. Surviving is his wife, the former Phyllis K.
