Cramer entered the photo to a contest sponsored by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council. The contest focused on the Susquehanna River. Beulah Bronson will celebrate 100th birthday Beulah Anderson Bronson of 110 Norton Avenue, Dallas, will be honored at an Open House to celebrate her 100th birthday December 13, at the Ruggles Methodist Church from 1-3 p.m. Mrs. Bronson was born December 10, 1892 to Walter and Susie Nulton Anderson in Ruggles, and spent most of her life until 1973 in the family home. She was married to the late Herbert Armstrong Bronson on December 15, 1917. Mr., Bronson died in March, 1950. Mrs. Bronson is the mother of four children: Iva, Mrs. Bruce Traver, now deceased; Marion, Mrs. Charles Huffman, Liberty; Walter, Dallas; and John, Springville. She has 15 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and 15 great- great grandchildren. She graduated in 1912 from the Bloomsburg Normal School. She taught in the Plymouth schools where she earned $40 per month and boarded in local homes. Mrs. Bronson is a lifelong member of the Ruggles Methodist Church and was a teacher and pianist there for many years. She and her husband organized the Sunday School there and were also active in the Young Crusaders Class and other church activities. During World War II she resumed her teaching in the Lake School District now part of the Lake-Lehman jointure; retiring in 1957. Other activities BEULAH BRONSON included her being president of P.T.A., teaching piano, and teaching home-bound students. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, and always game for a game of Scrabble. Friends, relatives and neighbors are invited to attend the Open House.
