Local artist's paintings on display at Mellon Bank Paintings by artist Jeanne Kirkpatrick are currently on ex- hibit at the Dallas branch of Mel- lon Bank, Main Street, Dallas through the end of December. The exhibit includes 12 of Mrs. Kirkpatrick's miniature paintings aswell as seven larger sized works. Depicted are realistic scenes of Portland Head Light, Maine and other seascapes as well as a repre- sentation of the four seasons fea- turing scenes from Huntsville Dam, Pennsylvania to Oslo, Norway, Copenhagen, Denmark and Corbr- idge, England. These paintings pou tray Kirkpatrick's love of travel. kpatrick works in all media, but primarily watercolor, alkyds and ink. ".~As well as being an artist, Mrs. Rirkpatrick is a professional weaver who teaches spinning and weav- ing. She exhibits her work at Arts at Hayfield at Penn State, Lehman Campus, and other exhibits around the area. A native of New York State, Kirkpatrick now re- sides in Montrose with her hus- band, Milton, a retired professor of English. The Kirkpatricks have three children and nine grandchil- dren. Kirkpatrick receives much of the inspiration from the many artis- tics organizations to which she belongs, including the Cider Paint- ers of America, the Pennsylvania En Plein Air Society, the Hill Coun- try Artists, and the Wyoming Val- ley Art League. She also studies art with Sue Hand of Dallas. The public is invited to view this display during regular banking hours at Mellon Bank, Main Street, Dallas through the end of Decem- ber. Tioga St. rR Nr ner } ¥ 12-5 2 ¥ ¥ Gift Certificates eng Local artists participate in En Plein Air Exhibit Northeastern Pennsylvania members of the Pennsylvania En Plein Air Society recently joined with other local artists to exhibit their drawings and paintings for the second annual En Plein Air Exhibit at Sue Hand’s Imagery, Dallas. The 145 pieces of art work were created outside on location, en plein air, by 30 artists. They depict many local landscapes as well as scenes from other sections of the country. During the exhibit, the PA En Plein Air Society elected three new signature members to their ranks. They are Diane Czajkowski, Ashley, an equestrian artist who works in all media; Tony Sindoni of Dallas, a professional musician who has studied at the New York Art Students League as well as with many other nationally recognized artists; and Eileen Warren, who has been interested in art since the age of five, and now teaches art at Wyoming Seminary Lower School. Czajkowski, Sindoni and Warren have all painted en plein air for the past several years. The PA En Plein Air Society was founded by Sue Hand and Leigh Pawling, Dallas and Jodi Edley of Kingston. Several issues dis- cussed were: * The upcoming teachers wage review. : * Four Dallas School Board member terms are expiring De- cember 1993, they are Mr. Stitzer, School teacher; Mr. Landon, Sales Rep; Mr. Cleary, Businessman; Mr. Richardson, Businessman. ; Since several persons expressed interest in running for these Schoal Board positions the procedure as to how to cross file and run on both Republican and Democrat ticket was discussed. All members were urged to encourage friends and relatives to participate in all phases of the National Education Week.
