Divers hold rescue drill at Harveys Lake Eighteen divers from the Luzerne County Sheriffs Department held a rescue drill at Harveys Lake July 11. The divers searched the Sunset area for two mannequins which had been submerged and recovered them within an hour. Lt. DOVE Post Staff The Lake-Lehman school board commended the Lehman-Jackson Elementary School PTA for its work in raising funds for new playground equipment at its meeting July 7. Three different modules — for kindergarten through second grade, third and fourth grades and fifth and sixth grades — contain activities geared to the students’ abilities and interests. In addition to raising the money, PTA mem- bers installed the equipment. In other business, the board contracted with Luzerne Interme- diate Unit #18 for special educa- tion services for students not pro- vided for in the district, at a cost of $667,667. The following bids totaling $47,222.60 were awarded for car- peting for the hallways in the Lehman-Jackson building, insur- ance and science lab supplies: * $32,500 for carpeting from Carpet Warehouse in Taylor. (This bid came in $9,500 under. the amount originally budgeted.) * $10,108 for student accident insurance and sports and activi- ties insurance through Robert Laux agency in Wilkes-Barre.
