Dallas High students receive commendations Frank Galicki, principal of Dal- las Senior High School, announced that Eric Lehman, Keith McDonald, Heather Mead, Geollrey Spear have been named Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commenda- tion from National Merit Scholar- ship corporation which conducts the program, was presented by the school to these outstanding sen- iors. Eric Lehman is a member of the National Honor Society. He par- ticipated in Soccer, Indoor Track and Spring Track. Eric attended the Rotary Leadership Camp as a Sophomore and was nominated as a Congressional Scholar as a Sen- ior. Eric will attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in Engineering. Eric is the James Dallas. Keith McDonald was president of the National Honor Society. He participated in' the WNEP-TV Scholarship Bowl, JETS Competi- tion and was selected for the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Semi- nar. Keith is also a member of the Soccer and Volleyball teams and captained both teams. He is a member of the yearbook stall, The Advertising Agency for Small Businesses. Heather is a member of the news- paper staff and has served as Assistant Editor and Editor of the Yearbook. She participates in Drama, Forensics, is a library vol- unteer and is a member of the church choir. Heather will attend Ursinus College majoring in Social Sciences. Heather is the daughter of Marvin and Barbara Mead of Dallas. Geollrey Spear is a member of the Gifted Program and scores in the top 10 percent in the NEDT's (National Educational Develop- ment Test). Eric received certifi- cates in both grades 9 and 10 for this achivement. Eric will attend Carnegie Mellon University major- ing in Engineering.
