Schooley, 81, of Harris Hill Road, Shavertown, Kingston Township, died June 4, 1992 in Leader West Nursing Center, King- ston. A lifelong resident of Kingston Township, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jane Nixon ‘Schooley. He was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary and the Uni- versity of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He was associated with the former Fowler, Dickand Walker Store (The Boston Store), serving as secretary, treasurer and senior vice president during his career that started in 1931. He retired in 1981. He was a past master of the George M. Dallas Masonic Lodge 531, past potentate and former member of the Board of Governors of Irem Temple, and was a member of Caldwell Consistory. He was a 33rd Degree Mason, and had received the Scottish Rite Gold Honor Award. In 1984, he received the Gold Book Award from the Shriners Hospitals. He was a former member of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Com- merce, where he formerly served as president, treasurer and mem- ber of its board of directors. In 1978, he received the Chamber's Presidents Award. He was a mem- ber of the Pennsylvania Retailers Association, and had served as its chief executive officer, president, treasurer and on its board of direc- tors. In 1979, he received: the Association's Pennsylvania Retailer of the Year Award. He was a former member of the Wilkes-Barre Rotary, the Pennsyl- vania Transportation Commission, and the administrative and finan- cial committee of the United Way of Wyoming Valley. He had served on the advisory boards of Penn State University Wilkes-Barre Campus and the United Penn Bank, Dallas. He was a member of the board of trustees of Geisinger Medical Center. He was a member of the Westmoreland Club, Lehigh Valley Club, N.E.C.O.M.E.N. Soci- ety of North America, the Navy Club, the University of Pennsylva- nia Alumni Club.
