The class . . separates into five groups; each _ group is assigned a different coun- try. This year's countries include: Italy, Germany, Japan, Mexico and France. Student - designed invita- tions are sent out to each stu- dent's parents and members of the * faculty, welcoming them to an evening of diverse cultural foods and customs. FIELD TRIPS Another great Lake-Lehman + «Christmas tradition is the Stu- «*»_dent-Council sponsored trip to New York City. The trip into the city is open to all students and includes ‘shopping time and a show at Radio ‘City Music Hall. Every December, Mrs. Jean Lipski organizes a trip to see The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s annual production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Teacher Mrs. Mary-Alice Luka- savage is beginning a new tradi- tion at Lake-Lehman. This month, the gifted class traveled to a Lan- caster dinner theatre to see a medieval Christmas show. In addition to the annual Christ- “Holiday season activities ; keep students hopping mas trips, this month the Ameri- can Studies Class attended a lec- ture at Bucknell University en- titled “Mapping the Discovery” - a seminar on the Native American Indians. CHRISTMAS ASSEMBLY This season also brings to Lake- Lehman, a series of assemblies. But the unanimous favorite is the one put on by the Foreign Lan- guage Club. Poems are read, stu- dents and faculty sing carols, and this year the exchange students are performing a skit called, “Vil- lancicos,” (Christmas Carols). Advisor, Mrs. Michelle Medura along with the members of the club, arrange the morning's enter- tainment. Club members include: Rob Van Gorder, Maurissa Fela, Sue Niezgoda, Karen Sichler, Di- ana Shoemaker, Marla Roskos, Jason Toluba, Andreia Mendonca, Raquel Gonzales, Amber Tarreto, Janet Ruda, Debbie McCall, Sarah Sorber, Nicole Hall, Tammy Kopko and Guille Loutiaf. KNIGHTLIFE’S CHRISTMAS ISSUE The 1991 Christmas edition of KnightLife promises to be the big- gestand best issue yet. The Knight- Life staff and advisor, Mrs. Ellen Campbell, produce a Christmas issue of the school newspaper every year. This year's issue will, in all its glory, be given out in each home room the week preceding Christ- mas vacation. The editorial staff is: Karen Sichler, Hillary Lewis, Ja- son Toluba, Swapna Sudharkaran, Erin Heiser, Jen Judge, Marybeth Jenkins, Barb Campbell, Chuck Finn and Dave Larkins - photogra- pher. SPONSOR A CHILD As the holiday quickly ap- proaches, students and faculty generously reach into their pock- ets and join forces to help make Christmas a very special memory for needy children in the district. The Annual Children’s Christmas party is always a successful event, due to the hard work and creativity of teachers, Mrs. Jeris Baranow- ski and Mrs. Cathy Wolfe. Jonelle Womelsdorf and Tracy Halowich are the designated chairpersons for this special event this year. Happy holidays from the halls of Lake-Lehman.
