Paulewicz, of Walnut Street, Nanticoke, was driving south on Hillside Road when he lost control of the truck due to the ice and snow covered Treadway. police said. * Paulewicz was taken to Nesbitt Memorial Hospital by a co-worker and released, police said. ; ACCIDENT AT MAIN AND ~ FRANKLIN STREETS Two cars collided at North Main and East Franklin Streets Decem- ber 3 at about 4:45 p.m., police said. Barbara A. Wentz, of 251 Church Street, Dallas, was traveling north on North Main, and stopped at the stop sign at East Franklin Street. Fred F. Mihal, of 109 East Fran- ~ klin Street, Shavertown, was trav- ~~ eling east on East Franklin Street, and also stopped at the intersec- tion with North Main Street. Mihal proceeded into the intersection, and his 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 was struck in the passenger side ‘by Wentz's 1986 Dodge 600, police said. Beverly L. Barry, of Highland Avenue, Trucksville, was traveling west on Carvertown Road at about 11 :50 a.m. and stopped because ie vehicle in front of her was trying to slow or stop because of he snow covered road, police said. John J. LEHMAN TOWNSHIP DUI CHARGED Joseph Lewis Dobrowolski, 40, of RD3 Hunlock Creek, was charged with driving under the influence December 8 at 12:10 a.m., police said. Dobrowolski was found passed out is his car with the engine running on Swamp Road by a passing motorist, police said. Investigating officer was Ptl. Jack Judge. CHARGED WITH SIMPLE ASSAULT Charles Douglas Coombs, 46, of RD 2 Dallas, was charged with simple assault and criminal tres- pass December 7 at he allegedly assaulted his estranged with Cath- erine Coombs at her residence, police said. Coombs allegedly forced his way into a mobile home on Briarcrest Road where his estranged wife lived and demanded to know where a friend of hers was, police said. Charles Coombs then allegedly started to hit her, knocked her down on the porch, slapped and choked her. He then ran into the bedroom, and assaulted the friend of Catherine Coombs. The friend refused to press charges. Lehman Township officers Jeff Oncay and Bill Purcell along with Harveys Lake Assistant Chief Ronald Spock arrested Charles Coombs at his home on Peace Road in Lake Township. Police said that Coombs cooperated after being taken into custody without inci- dent. CAR COLLISION AFTER WINDOW BLOWS OUT Two cars collided on Route 29 in Lake Silkworth after the window of one of the cars was blown out December 8, police said. Stephany Louise Kreidler, of Blaire Street, Plymouth, told po- lice she was driving north on Route 29 at the Lake Silkworth Trailer Park at about 5:45 p.m. when she heard a loud explosion and her driver's side window came in on her. She said she pulled to the right of the road and applied her brakes when her 1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was hit by a 1983 Ford Escort. The driver of the Escort; Gail Heller, of RD3 Hunlock Creek, said she saw glass on the road, and attempted to pass Kreidler, and was forced over by another vehicle passing in the same direction causing her car to hit Kreidler's. Earl Whitman, of Dublin, Penn- sylvania, told police he was driving his 1986 Chevrolet truck west on 118 when a van came out of Moun- tain View Drive very slowly. The driver of the 1987 Ford van, Nancy Davis, of Dilliner, Pennsyl- vania, said she was trying to cross Route 118 from Mountain View Drive to Firehouse Road. She said nothing was coming from the east or west when Whitman's truck came out of nowhere. Davis said she tried to accelerate across Route 118 to Firehouse Road. CAR SLIDES OVER EMBANKMENT Andrew Pilch, of West 8th Street, West Wyoming, was taken to Nes- bitt Hospital by Lehman Ambu- lance after he lost control of his car on Hillside Road near Huntsville Road December 6, police said. Pilch said he was driving his 1982 Chrysler on Hillside Road at about 12:10 p.m. when he lost control of the car on an icy corner. Investigating officer Sgt. William Bockus Jr. checked the corner and found it to be wet, but not ice covered. CAR HITS ROCK EMBANKMENT A driver lost control of her car and spun into a stone wall on Hillside Road December 5, police said. Coleen Lankwarden, of RD 4 Dallas, was driving a 1990 Honda Civic east on Hillside Road at about 11:55 a.m. when she lost control of the car, spun and came to rest against a rock embankment, po- lice said. Lankwarden’s car was towed, but she was uninjured. Investigating officer was Sgt. William Bockus Jr. DALLAS BOROUGH DRIVER CITED IN REAR- END COLLISION According to Dallas Borough police, a 1989 Plymouth sedan operated by Sister Mary Therese McGuire and owned by the Sisters of Mercy, Dallas, and a 1981 Ford Coupe operated by Jeffrey Dwayne Bradley, 28, of Williamsport, were involved in a rear-end accident Tuesday, December 3. Police said that both vehicles were traveling north on Route 415 when the McGuire vehicle stopped for a traf- fic light. The Bradley vehicle was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the McGuire vehicle's rear end. Bradley was cited for careless driving, according to the report. The Bradley vehicle was towed from the scene. HIT AND RUN DURING SNOW SQUALL According to Dallas Borough police, a 1986 GMC station wagon owned by Pamela Pambrinco, 37, of Trucksville, was damaged by a hit and run driver during a snow squall Wednesday, December 4. Police said that Ms. Pambianco had briefly left her vehicle parked. on Terrace Street near Gate of Heaven School and returned to find it moderately damaged. Police said that Bower later asked the victim for an additional $500 to cover other repairs that he claimed to have made on the ve- icle. The victim stated to police that no repairs were made. Dallas Borough Patrolman James Drury investigated the incident. DALLAS TOWNSHIP CAR, GUN TAKEN FROM TRAILER PARK - Dallas Township police are in- 'vestigating the theft ofa 1990 Ford Probe and a Taras .38 caliber handgun from Lot 224, Valley View Trailer Park. The theft was reported December 4. Dallas Township Patrolman Doug Higgins is the investigating officer. REAR-END COLLISION DURING SNOW SQUALL According to Dallas Township police, a 1987 Ford F-250 pickup truck operated by John K. Carr, Jr., 59, of Kingston and a 1984 Plymouth Reliant operated by Constance M. Miner, 28, of RR1 Meshoppen, were involved in a rear-end accident December 4. Patrolman Douglas Lamoreaux investigated the accident. HERD OF DEER CAUSES ONE-CAR ACCIDENT According to Dallas Township police, a 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme operated by Robert Allen Ryman, 18, of RD 6 Tunkhannock and owned by Julie L. Cummings of RD 6 Tunkhannock was involved in a one-vehicle accident Decem- ber 7 on Lower Demunds Road. Ryman stated to police that he was traveling north on Lower Demunds Road and slowed down because a herd of deer was standing along- side the road. The last deer in the. herd darted in front of his vehicle, damaging the right front fender, - smashing the windshield and: damaging a gun inside the vehicle, according to the report. Dallas. Township Patrolman Wayman Miers investigated the accident. ONE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN KUNKLE According to Dallas Township police, a 1981 Plymouth Champ. operated by George William" Roberts, 21, of Ashley, was in- volved in a one-vehicle accident December 5 on the Kunkle-Alder- son Road. Police said that thj.[ Roberts vehicle was traveling east when it slid on the icy roadway, leaving the right side of the road and coming to rest against a tree. Dallas Township Patrolman Robert Appel investigated the accident.
