Over one hundred of the best high school ~ bands on the East Coast competed in this prestigious tournament of bands. The Lake-Lehman High School Marching Band came home with first place honors. The Lake-Lehman band com- peted on Sunday, November 11 with twenty five bands of its size to determine a Group II champion. The marching Knights were judged in six categories: color guard, marching, music ensemble, per- cussion, brass, and woodwinds. Lake-Lehman swept the competi- tion by taking top honors in all of these categories as well as first place in their group. This is the seventh time in the past eight years that the Knights have been the Atlantic Coast Cham- pions, which is a tournament record. Their top score of 97.65 broke the previous Group II high score of 96.9 which was earned by Lehman in 1988. The successful championship performance of the band was no exception to their fine season.
