He was transported by .the Kunkle ambulance to Nesbitt ‘Hospital, where he was treated ‘and released, according to police. Police said that they have a sus- pect in the incident, which was ‘still under investigation Monday ‘night. Dallas Township Patrolmen ‘Robert Jolley and Wayman, Miers ‘and Police Chief Carl Miers are the ‘investigating officers. ACCIDENT AT HAYS CORNERS According to Dallas Township “police, a 1973 Dodge truck oper- ated by Cecelia Hoyt of RD 2 Har- veys Lake and a 1986 Ford sedan operated by Norma Smith of RD 5 Dallas were involved in an acci- dent Friday, Novemberl, at 1 p.m. at Hays Corners. Police said that the Hoyt vehicle was attempting to turn left from Country Club Road onto Ellsworth “Hill Road when the Smith vehicle impacted with its right front. No injuries were reported to police. The Smith vehicle was towed from the scene. Dallas Township Patrolman Douglas Lamoreaux investigated the accident. LEHMAN TOWNSHIP THREE CAR CRASH ~ Three people were taken to General Hospital after a three car crash on Route 118 near Fedor Road October 31, police said. Mark Hufhand, 35, of Park Avenue, Shavertown, was driving west ib Route 118 atabout 11 a.m. and struck the rear of a car stopped to make a left hand turn onto Fedor Road, driven by Jane Crawn, + 31, of Hunlock Creek. % Hufhand’'s 1986 Oldsmobile \Cutlas pushed Crawn’'s 1976 Dodge into a stone wall on the right of the road. «+ Hufhand’s car spun into the left lane, and was hit by an eastbound car, driven by Frank Cunius, 41, of Filbert Street, Forty Fort. .. Cunius's 1983 Mercury Grand ‘Marquis then swerved intoa guard- rail. . Lehman Fire and Ambulance responded, along with Lake Silk- worth Ambulance, Dallas Ambu- lance, and Medic 1. All the cars were towed from the scene. Cunius and Crawn were treated and released from General Thurs- day, while Hufhand was not listed in the hospital's records Monday, November 4. For more information see "Three Car Crash" under the police reports on this page. 1 | MAN HURT AFTER LEAVING MOVING CAR Robert Carey, 39, of Claude Street, Dallas was taken to Nesbitt Hospital after stepping out of a moving vehicle October 21, accord- ing to police. Carey was a passenger in a Chevrolet Astro Van driven by, Chris J. Bittenbender, 35, of Dal- las, which was heading north on Roue 415 at about 12:10 a.m., police said. Bittenbender told police that Carey said he wanted to get his car, and when he looked over, Carey was gone. Carey was found along the roadway, police said. Carey was taken to Nesbitt Hospital by Dallas Ambulance. He was not listed in the hospital's records Monday, November 4. Investigating officer was How- ard Kocher. WOMAN INJURED AFTER AUTO CRASH Jennifer Fisher of Sweet Valley was taken to Nesbitt Hospital by Lehman Ambulance October 31 after her car struck the rear of a car in front of her on Route 118, police said. Fisher was driving east at about 4:20 p.m. when she struck the rear of Harold Cornell Jr.’s vehicle. Cornell was unhurt and his ve- hicle sustained light damage. Fisher's Ford Tempo was severely damaged. Investigating officer was Pil Howard Kocher. WINDOWS SMASHED Two residents reported that their rear windshields were smashed during the night of October 22, according to police. Harold Major, of Old Route 115, reported that the rear window of his car was shot out, and three windows in his garage has small pellet holes in them. Bill Hardisky reported to police that the rear window of his VW Rabbit was shot out, and a 1987 Oldsmobile was hit by a rock. Investigating officer was Ptl. David Kittle. Hill the Florist 15 North Pioneer Avenue Shavertown 696-2993 CAR REPORTED STOLEN Rodney Lanning of Sweet Valley reported October 27 that his 1979 Mustang was stolen from the park- ing lot of Irene’s Bar at Lake Silk- worth, police said. Lanning reported to police that he had been at Irene’s Bar on the night of October 26, and when the car was gone, he thought his girl- friend had taken the car home. The next morning, he found that his girlfriend hadn't taken the car. The registration on the car was WPM-870. Lanning told police that the title, registration, and other papers were in the car. Investigating officer was Ptl. Sev Newberry. KINGSTON TOWNSHIP CHIEF'S CAR EGGED Three juveniles and two 18-year- olds were cited for disorderly con- duct after they egged police chief Paul Sabol's car Halloween Night, October 31, at about 8 p.m. Sabol was patrolling the neigh- borhood along with township supervisor Jeffrey Box to make sure the kids were alright, said Sabol. The car was egged on Pio- neer Avenue. The egg tossers were followed to Route 11 in Kingston where they were caught. "it's an unmarked car, they just picked the wrong car," said Sabol. Sabol said police there were five police cars out Halloween night, and four out on Mischief night. = .. LAWNMOWER, TOOLS STOLEN A lawn mower, chainsaw, and miscellaneous tools were found stolen from a storage building owned by Samuel Latona on West Eighth Street on October 29, por lice said. Robert Weiss. le, @ TWO DRIVERS CITED Both drivers were cited after an accident November 3 at Mount Olivet Road and Krispin Road, police said. At about 8:45 p.m., Thomas J. Brennan, 18, of Country Club Road, Dallas, was driving east on Mount Olivet Road followed by a car driven by Michael Edward Bailey, 19, of Ferguson Avenue, Shavertown. Neither driver was injured, nor was a passenger in Bailey's pas- senger, Jeffrey Banks, 21, of Fire- cut Road, Wyoming. Both cars were driven from the accident. Bailey was cited for illegal pass- ing, and Brennan of careless driv- ing, police said. Investigating officer was Sgt. J.J. Balavage. HARVEYS LAKE DUI CHARGED Michael Scavone, 26, of Box 246 AlLakeside Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of al- cohol after being stopped on Lake- side Drive November 1 at approxi- mately 1:10 a.m., police said. Police said a breath test showed Scavone’s blood alcohol level to be .19 percent. Arresting officer was Ptl. Jeffrey Butler. HARASSMENT CHARGED Mary Anne Paugsch, 41, of RD 4, Dallas, was charged with har- assment by communication for allegedly making anonymous tele- phone calls to her husband at inconvenient hours, police said. Police said that 14 calls made to her husband, Klaus Paugsch, were traced to her telephone from Octo- ber 9 to October 16. Police said that Perkoski lost control of his 1990 Chevrolet truck while travling north on Ryman Road. The vehicle struck an em- bankment and turned ontoits side, fatally injuring Perkoski, police said.
