It will be a double header with Dallas playing in the second game. While there is confidence on the team, Jones remains cautious with her predictions. “I knowwho's going to win,” she claimed. “The team who scores the most points. We have several on the injured list and Janosky's ankle is not good.” In- TV HOST - Chris Michael of Dallas will co-host a new hunting and fishing series on television next year. Michael will also produce much of the photography for the show. - Dallas resident will host TV series on the outdoors By FLORENCE FINN Sports Correspondent Wendy Skibitsky, a former Lake- Lehman hockey standout, was named Atlantic 10 player of the week during October 21 through 27. Wendy has played for two years on Temple University’s team as a forward. A physical education /therapeu- tic recreation major, she scored four goals in the past week making a total of six for the season. Her efforts have helped Temple to be ranked second in the Atlantic 10 Conference and 10th nationally. The award is given weekly to an outstanding player in the Atlantic 10 Conference. It is chosen by a : committee based on weekly statis- tics. As aLake-Lehman inner, Wendy was one of the leading scorers of the Wyoming Valley Conference and obtained a full tuition and book scholarship to play hockey at Temple. Wendy is the daughter of Jo- seph and Dorothy Skibitsky who reside in Hunlock Creek. Two other Back Mountain play- ers are on Temple's starting team: Lori Warneka of Dallas and Carolyn James of Lake-Lehman. Michael, a Dallas resident and a 1990 graduate of Misericordia with a B.A. in English, is currently trav- eling the world as the co-host of a new hunting and fishing television series. An avid outdoorsman, Michael will host the half-hour fishing segment of “God's County,” a one- hour nationally syndicated out- doors program. Michael will also do all of the still photography for the show as well as some underwa- ter photography. : “This is like a dream come true,” said Michael, who has held a cap- tain’s license for seven years and has operated a fishing charter business in Rochester, N.Y., with his father, Frank. “I love to fish and take pictures and now I'm going to get paid to do both.” So far, Michael's travels have taken him to Africa and New Zeal- and and he recently departed for a six-day trip to Alaska. “I've never been to most of the places before,” he said. “I'm really enjoying myself.” While in Africa, Michael fished for shark-toothed catfish before | moving on to the Taupo Region of ' New Zealand, the fly fishing capital of the world where they fished for rainbow trout. “The fishing was great, espe- cially in New Zealand,” said Mi- chael, whoregularly pulled in eight- pound rainbow trout. Michael was looking forward to the Alaska trip which will include hunting for grizzly bear and fish- ing for salmon and halibut. “I've never been to Alaska before, so it should be a real learning experi- ence,” he said. After their stay in Alaska, Mi- chael and co-host Ray Davies of Stroudsburg will make their way through Canada, the western United States and Mexico before ending up in Costa Rica in mid- December.
