Gunster, son of Dallas, was a member of the team selected 1st runner-upin the 1991 Babson College Douglass Prize Competition. Gunster and his team presented a business plan for the Gourmet Mushroom Co., a company that handles the growing, distribution and marketing of gourmet sitake mushrooms. ~The Douglass Prize Competition is a graduate business plan com- petition that awards cash prizes totaling $5000 to the winner and runners-up. The business plans cover startups, acquisitions, com- pany growth, real estate develop- ~ ment or entrepreneurial ventures. The awards are presented each spring at the Babson College Foun- der’s Day Celebration. ~ Gunster earned an MBA degree atBabson’s 1991 commencement, graduating with high distinction. New Life home-school graduation ~The home-schooled students of New Life Community Church had their graduation ceremony on Sunday, June 2, at the “Glory Barn” ‘in Orange. ~The ceremony honored the five home-schooled students that are under the auspices of New Life Community Church. Dallas High Band has had a productive and exciting spring Following the Senior High School Band concert on April 25, featuring the Jazz band, the students departed for a three. day trip to Ocean City, Md., for the Marlin-Boardwalk Parade then on to Jackson, New Jersey where they performed at Great Adventure Park. On May 16, the concert and jazz bands played a variety of music for the enjoyment of the Fine Arts Festival spectators in Wilkes-Barre. Upcoming events include the Memorial Day Parade in Dallas and the final performance for the scheol year will be at the graduation ceremonies at Dallas. The Summer band program will continue over vacation including band camp during the last two weeks prior to the first day of school.
