During his sentencing hearing, an assistant district attorney says it's well-known that Jones has x /supplied alcohol to teenagers. Women's Conference slated for June 1 ‘#@Vomen from‘all'walks of life in'the Greater Wilkes-Barre Area and beyond will share their talent and “Wisdom on Saturday, June 1, at the Luzerne County Women’s Conference, to be held all day on the campus in Lehman of Penn State Wilkes-Barre. The public is invited, and at least 500 women and .4men are expected to attend the 7th Annual Conference, the theme of which is “We the Women of e World.” A co-sponsor this year and financial backer is the Pennsylvania Council on the Humani- ies. Features of the conference, in addition to the almost 70 workshops, are an art exhibit by five ‘local artists, a keynote talk by a futurist and feminist-environmentalist, appearance by folksinger Bridget Ball, and a book store with volumes of special interest to women. This week, the conference presenters were the honorees at a reception on campus to enable them to meet each other and become familiar with the locations for their workshops. Fesitval of Faith Service to be held June 2 at Shavertown United Methodist Church The Annual Festival of Faith Worship Service will be held on Sunday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at the Shavertown United Methodist Church, corner of North Pioneer Avenue and West Center Street, Shavertown. Twenty-two young people will be confirmed and received into the church during the Service. The Rev. Dr. William B. Lawrence, Wilkes- Barre District Superintendent of Wyoming Conference of the United Methodist Church, will celebrate the Confirmation, assisted by: Keith Atherholt, Susan E. Davis, and David Jenkins, Lay Leaders; Jean Johnson, Youth Coordinator; and Pastors Harriet L. Santos and James A. Wert. Dr. Lawrence will also present the homily. Music in the Service will be pre- sented by the Children’s Choir, directed by Barbara Zarambo, assisted by Bonnie Ziegler; the Festival Choir, directed by Ros E. Santos; and the Freedom Ringers Handbell Choir, directed by Peggy Knapich. A quartet, composed of Jason Getz, Megan Ruddy, Holly Randolph and Bob Nattress, will accompnay the hymn singing. A special music prelude will begin at 10:45 a.m. prior to the beginning of the service. A procession of the Confirma- tion Class, along with those con- firmed last year, representatives of the Sunday School, the choirs and Anzalone Brothers and Co. release new cassette single The Anzalone Brothers and Company have released a new single cassette entitled BIMINI. The recording will be distributed na- tionally to over 200 major Bill- board reporting stations by World Canadian Music, New York, New York. The single was recorded at Hol- land Sound Studios, Scranton, and is available, along with their first cassette Volume I at Joe Nardone's Gallery of Sound storesand Ralph's Record City, Scranton. The Anzalone Brothers are a ' product of a music-loving family including Rev. Samuel Anzalone who brought the Von Trapp family singers of"Sound of Music” fame to the Wyoming Valley in the late 40's.
