Absent from photo, Lee Anne Rogers, Jennifer Smith. (Post Photo/By Charlot M. Denmon) Lady Knights softball team hopes 10 challenge for Class AA title ‘By CHARLOT M. DENMON Staff Writer Lake-Lehman softball coach ‘Rosanne Ragnaccihas only 14 girls out for the Lady Knight team this Season, but most are veterans. Nine of the girls are returning Starters and should form a good Nucleus for the team. We arein the Southern division of Class AA and definitely in the hunt for the title. We are looking forward to playing Dallas who is in the AA Class in the northern division this year,” said Ragnacci. “The girls on both teams are friends and will continue to be but when they take to the field they Ae rivals. They put their friend- ships behind them until the game is over.” The Lady Knights have two good pitchers in Cherub Honeywell and Karen Stefanowicz. Cherub has the speed and Karen is a finesse pitcher. The girls also have some power hitting in Noell Brooks, Tracy Krupa and Honeywell. Lee Ann Rogers will give them speed on the bases. “We lost Wendy Skibitsky, an outstanding player, through gradu- ation,” Ragnacci said. Her potential starters will be Jennie Cross, first base; Karen Halowich, second base; Honeywell and Stefanowicz will share the pitching and third; Krupa will be behind the plate; Brooks in left field; Heather Ruger in centerfield: Lee Ann Rogers in left field and Mindy Main at shortstop. “The league is tough this year with a lot of good teams. Nanticoke will be the team to beat in the southerndivision, I believe, and in the north, Dallas or Tunkhannock. We play each of those two teams once. As I said we will be in the hunt for the title,” Ragnacci con- cluded. McCall named All-American Nine Shippensburg University men’s swimmers earned All- America honors this season as the Red Raiders repeated as Pennsyl- vania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champions and placed fourth at the NCAA Division II na- tional championships. The All-Americans included Chris McCall, Dallas-Bishop Hoban High School.
