Hugh Mundy announces run for full judicial term Hugh Mundy of Dallas, await- ing confirmation by the State Senate of his appointment as a judge to the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas, has announced his candidacy for a full-term on the court in radio advertisements being broadcast throughout Luzerne County. Mundy in his paid broadcasting states that he chose not to take the path taken by the other candi- dates who have announced for judge to date. He said he wanted to take his message directly to the people by way of the air. “I could hold a press conference or fill.a room with supporters to announce my decision,” Mundy said. “But since the ultimate choice as to who sits for judge is up to you and that is why I want you to hear directly from me,” Mundy said in his radio message. “I am confident I will be ap- pointed to fill Judge Podcasy’s term,” Mundy said last week. “My appointment was submitted in January and it is only a matter of time until the Senate comes to that issue on the calendar.” Governor Robert Casey ap- pointed Mundy to the court va- cancy after he was reviewed and recommended by a county-wide, non-partisan judicial commission that interviewed numerous appli- cants. “I do not anticipate any impact at all on my confirmation because I have announced my candidacy for a full term. Iwill continue to pursue confirmation and elec- tion to the full term and will be cross-filing. “With the number of candidates seeking a judgeship, qualifications are an issue that the voters should play close attention to and I am confident my qualifications speak for themselves and would appreci- Property transfers Property transfers recorded at the Luzerne County Court House fromFebruary 7, 1991 to February 13, 1991.
