Family Service Associaton of Wyoming Valley is sponsoring a program dealing with the negative uses of anger in intimate relationships. The program, “Men, Women in ~~ Anger”, will begin on February 20, and will run on Tuesday evenings, 6:30-8:30 until April 2, 1991. ) Group leaders will be Kathy ~ Czeck Atwell LW, MSW and David Geller, BA. Atwell, a counselor at Family Service, has extensive ex- perience in marriage counseling and aiding couples in violent rela- tionships. The program will teach basic concepts such as controlling an- - ger, communicating better and taking responsibility for one’s own behavior. A group of both men and ~ women will come together to dis- cuss these issues. | ~The goal of this workshop is to eliminate violent behavior between abusive couples by helping par- ticipants to see thier partners’ point of view. A modest fee of $30.00 per per- son is required and a workbook will be included. The sessions will meet at Family Service Associa- tion, 73 W. Union St., Wilkes-Barre. Hogg, son of Jean Hogg, Elmira, New York, and Joseph Hogg, Elmira, New York, were recently united in marriage at Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. The double ring cere- mony was performed by Father Louis Grippe. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose her sister, Jill Hoffman, Philadelphia, as her maid of honor and her sister, Mrs. Gail Stevens of Waynesburg, Pa., as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Susan Jordan, West Pittston, and Bernadette Ewastation, Wilkes-Barre. The best man was John C. Hogg, Buffalo, New York. Ushers were Tom Hogg, Elmira, Joseph Curran, Rochester and Steven Smithers, Elmira, New York. An evening reception was held at The Barn, NeVbatry Estates in Dallas. The father of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Grotto, Harveys Lake. A bridal shower was given by the bridesmaids at Irem Temple Country Club. The bride is a graduate of Coughlin High School, Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing and State University of New York's Health Science Center, where she received her Masters of Science Degree and Clinical Nurse Specialty in Adult Health. She is em- ployed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Department of Admin- istrative Affairs at The Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Albany, New York. The groom is a graduate of Elmira Free Academy, Elmira College, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology-Chemis- try, and is currently a doctoral candidate in medical research at Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York.
