Dallas Scholarship Bowl students applauded College Misericordia recently congratulated members of the Dallas High School Scholarship Bowl team for their success in the WNEP-TV Super 16 Scholarship Bowl program, which concluded Feb. 2. The seven-member team defeated Bishop Neumann in its first round and later lost to Bloomsburg High School in the second round. Misericordia, one of four sponsors of the program, presented the team and supporting faculty and administration with Misericordia sweatshirts. Yezilski, of Dallas, attained Dean's List status for the fall 11990 semester from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science | (PCT&S). Yezilski is a junior majoring in fashion design. .. The band is made up of stu- dents in grades 9 through 12 and begins its activities in the summer, preparing for the foot- ball and marching band sea- sons. The marching band in- cludes a visual ensemble com- monly called the Band Front or Color Guard. Student leadership for the current year is made up of Eric Clothier, drum major, and band front co-leaders Jeri Searfoss and Megan Wega. Todd Hunter is band director. This past fall the Dallas per- cussion section distinguished itself by winning first place in the Group I competition at the Tournament of Bands champi- onship held in Nanticoke. The band also performed for the Philadelphia Phillies last year. In addition, the band gives pa- rade performances, special appearances and travels to fes- tivals in other states. A jazzband will be added in 1991 and plans trips to Ocean City, Maryland and Jackson, New Jersey.
