Those participating were Patrol Leader Mark Shanaberger, Billy Puchalsky, Jerry Delescavage, Brian Karolchik, Jeffrey Beisel, Harry Hazeltine and Kevin West. The boys placed third in the four stroke relay, first in timed flota- tion, and fourth place overall Twelve patrols participated. The troop is currently working on Fingerprinting Merit Badge, and is gearing up for summer camp and the First Aid meet. Scoutmas- ter is Al Karolchik, assistant scout- master is Barry West. Girls Scout cookies and ice cream Girl Scout Cookie lovers are in for a new taste treat - Hillside Farms Girl Scout Cookie Ice Cream. And it is available right now at the Hillside Farms Dairy Store and Boscov's. You can take a half gallon home, or have a cone right there. Girls Scouts will set up a booth at the Dairy Store on Febru- ary 23 and 24 to sell cookies to enjoy with the ice cream. The Girl Scout Cookie Sale is the only community appeal for funds to support the Girl Scout program. Some of the profits benefit the troops directly, while the rest support the total program of the Council. Don't forget that Girl Scout cookies have a very short season. They will only be available until March 16 and that’s true for the ice cream too. Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Auxiliary bakes at PG&W The Shavertown Branch of Nesbitt Memorial Hospital's Auxiliary recently baked cookies at PG&W in Wilkes-Barre. Branch members later sold the cookies at a bake sale at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital to employees and visitors. Nesbitt Memorial Hospital's Aucxilliary is divided into seven branches and is comprised of over 350 individuals. These dedicated people volunteer their time to raise funds for the hospital. Women's Club completes yellow ribbon project GFWC /PFWC The Harveys Lake Women's Service Club recently completed a “Tie a Yellow Ribbon around Harveys Lake” project. Mrs. Susan McCartney and Mrs. Bev- erly Vespico made over 80 yellow bows to display around to show support for the service men and women stationed overseas. Mrs. McCartney explained her interest in the project was per- sonal. “My brother is Chief Medical Technologist, Robert Rinehammer on board the USS Phillipines Seas in the Persian Gulf. His duties include the set-up of naval hospi- tals on board ships. He has a newborn son, Christopher who he hasn't seen yet.
